Good and Evil, right and wrong. As a society, we tend to all have similar views of these things. Hitler=bad, god=good. But is this really correct? Do we all really think the same way? or perhaps or reactions to certain events are just our programmed responses, programmed into us during our youth. No, im not talking about aliens brainwashing us or anything of the sort. I simply mean, that we decide whether events are good or evil based on what our parents and sociey tell us to react to them. We believe Adolf Hitler is one of the most black-hearted beings ever on the face of this planet. But i cant help but wonder...did Hitler himself think he was evil?
The main purpose of this writing was to explore and put out a theory I have recently come up with. I believe that good and evil, right and wrong, are all subjective and up to individual interpretation. Good is in the eye of the beholder i guess. I am in no way, shape, or form justifying the holocaust, the invasion of europe, or any other of Adolf Hitler's actions by any means. I am merely, for the sake of arguement, using him as an example to show my point.
Life is not a Batman cartoon. We do not have individuals like the Joker who wake up in the morning and say "I am an evil sonfabitch!", it just doesnt work that way. I feel that men like Hitler or Stalin woke up everyday just like you and I, believing in their heart of hearts that what they were doing was right. Hitler was not out to destroy the world, he was out to save it. He belived the jewish people to be evil. Therefore he was out to save all of us from their evil ways. He thought that the jews and other types of people were evil and out to destroy the world, so he saved us. He flew in with his big black cape, pointed ears and tried his damnedest to take out the joker(the jewish people). He was doing a public service, contributing to the greater good. How, then is Hitler any different from Batman?
Batman always comes crashing in to the badguys hiding place(Israel), kicking ass taking names and beating the living shit out of these "badguys". But one detail that tends to go unnoticed in the Batman series alot is...he always ran away from the cops at the end. They were always after him, because regardless of who he thought he was, he was doing "evil" things(although they dont portray him that way. but if he wasnt then why did he always run from the police?)
I guess what im trying to say is, there is a fine line between good and evil. We've all heard the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure.", well I feel "one man's saint, is another man's sinner."
